Why FormFlow Living?
The FormFlow building system
A prefabricated home that will get you into your new space in weeks rather than months.
Formflow’s building system is fully constructed off-site in a factory environment. This means less time spent on-site which also reduces the impact of weather conditions. In this way the build time is significantly shortened and can be better controlled to eliminate project delays.
Provides superior quality and spectacular visual appearance at moderate costs.
FormFlow combines Computer Aided Design (CAD) with advanced technologies for process monitoring and quality control. Our team has pioneered modular building design and manufacture. We use FormFlow Bending Technology to deliver building systems that combine outstanding quality and building performance with exceptional beauty and visual appeal. A home that you are proud to own and live in.
Has an advanced steel frame system that provides superior durability and strength.
The backbone of FormFlow’s homes is an Australian-made steel frame system which uses the FormFlow structural corner to provide additional strength. This makes FormFlow`s building solutions more durable and resistant to flexing and warping and achieves straighter lines and finishes on your roof, ceilings, and walls compared to conventional products.
Has a reduced environmental impact throughout its construction and lifetime.
FormFlow has developed advanced methods for building pre-fabrication that are orientated on automotive principles to reduce the environmental impact, material usage and waste in building construction. The system uses FormFlow Bending Technology to establish an airtight and sealed building envelope that provides enhanced energy performance over the lifetime of your home.
Uses modular elements allowing you to add, change, move and adapt the space to suit your needs as they change over time.
Formflow’s homes have a flexible modular concept and are designed for easy disassembly and relocation. This enables modules to be added or sold to suit the occupants needs. Our modules have extremely flexible usages. You can create a home, an office or a kids retreat. This facilitates re-use and ensures that building modules stay in circulation as long as possible to provide the best solution for you and your planet.
The FormFlow bend delivers
An Australian-made high-performance building solution
The FormFlow bend is produced from COLORBOND® Steel, a building product that is manufactured in Australia to Australian Standards (AS1397 and AS/NZS 2728) and has been tested in some of the harshest Australian conditions over the last 50 years. The FormFlow bend creates a mechanical connection between wall or roof segments so that the corrugated sheeting can function as a structural element rather than just a cladding material. This improves the structural performance of the building and reduces internal framing requirements.
Seamless transitions in wall and roof cladding to create beautiful, distinctive designs
The FormFlow bend eliminates capping at building corners and roof ridges to provide a smooth and continuous visual flow that is aesthetically pleasing. This adds a new dimension to an Australia`s building material “icon“, corrugated iron. Complex return bends are possible which enhances the design portfolio available to architects and enables the design of high quality/low-cost building solutions that people are proud to own and live in.
Simple installation by certified roofers or cladding installers
The FormFlow bend simply replaces conventional corner and roof capping pieces making is easy to use and understand by architects and builders alike. Its unique but simple design in combination with detailed and field proven installation manuals makes it easy to install with common sheet cladding procedures applied by certified roofers and cladding installers.
Resistance to ember attacks in bushfires
In Australian bushfires a high percentage (>90%) of houses is attacked by embers only or by a combined effect of radiant heat and embers. Ember attack has been identified as the predominant ignition mechanism. Gaps with a size more than 2mm within the building envelope are a potential area for ember attack and in combination with combustible building materials create a high bushfire risk.
The FormFlow bend wraps corrugated and incombustible steel sheet around a corner or roof ridge peak to form a gap free joint. This prevents embers from entering the building envelope to significantly improve the bushfire performance of your home.
Improved Insulation and building performance
Between 5% and 40% of a home’s heating and cooling costs can be attributed to energy loss through air leaks.
The FormFlow bend is airtight and provides a sealed cladding system that will reduce the environmental impact of your home and will lower your heating and cooling bills.
A sustainable building material
The FormFlow bend is manufactured from COLORBOND® Steel which is already produced from >20% recycled material. Steel is 100% recyclable and the most recycled material in the world; its lifecycle is potentially endless.
FormFlow is developing steel construction solutions to enable energy-efficient and low-carbon-neutral homes. This is to reduce the environmental impact over the buildings’ life cycle and to extend their life span through design for disassembly and reuse.
